Additional application submitted for another 180 houses

Hi all,

The M35 Group met last night to discuss our plans to formally object to the additional proposal to build up to 180 additional houses on Green Belt land behind Marston Close, Failsworth Road, Medlock Road and Withins Hall.

We have arranged an important residents’ meeting at the Willow Tavern next Wednesday at 7.00pm, and all our local councillors will be attending.

At the meeting we will have printed copies of four different versions of the objection letter. They all raise the same key planning objections but are worded differently so that residents can submit individual representations.

All you need to do is sign a letter and add your home address. We will then make sure the objections are submitted to the correct place.

If you cannot attend the meeting, please don’t worry. I am happy to come to your house with an objection form for you to sign. Just message me and I will arrange to call round.

⚠️ DEADLINE: 1 SEPTEMBER

The current deadline for objections is 1 September, so we have very little time left and we need as many local residents as possible to make their voices heard.

This could be our last opportunity to protect this remaining Green Belt land between Failsworth and Woodhouses.

If this development goes ahead, the consequences will be permanent. Failsworth and Woodhouses will move significantly closer to being joined by housing, and countryside that has helped separate our communities for generations could be lost forever.

Once Green Belt is built on, we cannot get it back.

Whether you live in Failsworth, Woodhouses or the surrounding area, please don’t assume that somebody else will object for you. Every objection matters. 

This is to object to the formal application so even if signed the letter at our last meeting, please sign again to ensure your objection is registered.

Please come along to the Willow Tavern next Wednesday at 7.00pm and sign an objection.

If you can’t attend, message me and I will come round with a form for you to sign.
