Dear Supporters and Allies,

Yesterday, 5th February 2025, was the first day of the Fairfax Inquiry and our team finished the day feeling proud of the contribution we are already making. The morning started with a huge presence from the local community - we certainly outnumbered the other side and there was a clear and visible sense that the community are strongly opposed to this proposal.

After a rather drawn-out session of housekeeping, we eventually arrived at the Opening Remarks from each of the three barristers and the statements from our Interested Parties. The developer's barrister laid out his case as we expected, as did the Council. Our barrister did an excellent job, and it was clear to everyone in the room why our presence at the Inquiry is absolutely crucial.

Our Interested Parties really did the community proud - spoke expertly on a range of topics. Again conveying the strength of the community opposition as well as all the sound reasons why the development is not appropriate.

We will continue to keep you updated over the coming weeks - please do get in touch with any questions and share this petition with others you think might be interested.

Please do spread the work about the campaign - we are still £7k short on the raise and will only be able to continue contributing to the Inquiry through to it's conclusion on March 7th if we raise all of the £30k that we need.
