Stop Broward County Animal Care From Giving Animals Away for Free or Cheap

Stop Broward County Animal Care From Giving Animals Away for Free or Cheap
The Issue
I have dedicated the past 50 years of my life to rescuing animals. I have seen firsthand the consequences that can occur when animals are given away for free or at a low cost. This practice by Broward County Animal Care is putting our beloved pets at risk, as it opens up opportunities for ill-intentioned individuals to take advantage of them.
Broward County, FL has a rich history and culture, but this issue is tarnishing its reputation. It's crucial that we protect our animals who cannot speak out or defend themselves. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter U.S shelters nationwide every year; many of these are victims of neglect and abuse due largely in part to practices such as these.
We must urge Broward County Animal Care to revise their policies on animal adoption fees. These fees not only help support the care and medical treatment needed by these animals but also serve as a barrier against those who might harm them.
Let us stand together in defense of our furry friends who bring so much joy into our lives. Please sign this petition urging Broward County Animal Care to stop giving away pets for free or cheaply, thereby ensuring they end up in homes that value their worth and will provide them with love and care they deserve.
