Hi all, I wanted to let you know that we currently have 7695 signatures on this petition. What an overwhelming show of support!

But, this fight is far from over!  There was an impressive turnout at the Board of Supervisors meeting on June 6th, and dozens of citizens spoke before the board in support of our library and against the attempted banning of books.  However, the extremist book banners are well-organized and showed up in equal numbers.  Their new approach was to declare that the library contained "pornography," and some read select passages from young adult books with LGBTQ+ themes.   

Since the book banners have chosen to skip past the library's established (and ALA-approved) procedure regarding book challenges, it is now up to the Warren County Board of Supervisors to decide whether to approve the normal library funding for 2024 or kowtow to this fringe group.  The BOS is meeting again on June 13th, and may possibly vote on the fiscal year 2024 budget at that time.  

So, we need to continue to act!  Would you help me get more signatures by sharing this petition with ten other people on social media? Facebook groups, SMS chats, Twitter, email, and WhatsApp all work great.  Also, please keep emailing the members of the Board of Supervisors.  Here are their addresses:
