It’s been almost two years since I started this petition, and things have only gotten worse as far as the First Amendment is concerned. It’s affecting not just Black voices, but any voice that sounds the alarm over this country being overtaken by a government that is of billionaires, by billionaires and for the billionaires.

Black people have been scapegoated for a high profile murder they had nothing to do with. Historically Black colleges and universities (HBCU) received bomb threats even before a killer was named. A memorial showed just how much white nationalism has risen up as a smokescreen to hide the truth of what is really destroying the futures of everyone on US soil, and that is corporate greed. No amount of white nationalism can erase the fact that Americans of ALL races are being fleeced out of a future by the government’s billionaire owners. The younger generations will never be able to own their own homes or make enough money to start and raise a family. I am from Generation X and I don’t think my children will ever get to live in a home of their own anytime soon. It’s not because I’m lazy. The workplace isn’t designed to help late-diagnosed autistics get ahead in life. If you are not good at playing office politics or sucking up to the boss, you are more likely to be the target of bullies. This year marks SIX YEARS since I was bullied out of the workforce. This month marks the last month that I received a settlement check of $330 for sexual harassment. It’s so weird that I got paid to go away because I was sexually harassed and not because I was bullied.  I had no other job lined up and when I tried to apply for jobs, no one wanted to hire me despite the fact I had 17 years experience working in a medical setting, knew medical terminology and a college degree. I didn’t even get offered an entry level job. That’s how I knew I was blackballed.

Thankfully, my husband was able to support our family on a single income, but even his employment is in jeopardy. He is a military veteran with over 20 years of public service but he has had to watch lots of his coworkers get fired as the regime hollows out the government agency he works for. He goes to work every day worried that he could be next. This is a man  who actually saved the federal government MILLIONS of dollars when, as an Air Force maintenance technician, he found a screw embedded in a wheel which could’ve resulted in the death of the fighter jet pilot and a multimillion dollar aircraft. The only reward he got for his heroic action was the chance to be on a midair refueling flight, which he videotaped for posterity.

Anyway, I’m all over the place with this appeal. I am not asking for money, but I am asking those of you with the means to support to help Black creators on Facebook. Creighton Leigh feeds Black people and provides necessities other than food. Upendo Farm Estates is another amazing Black woman I follow who has suffered unbelievably difficult setbacks in terms of her health and recently lost her beloved alpaca, Lucky.  She has been burning the candles at both ends to support herself and even her community. She was a victim of child sexual abuse and had a very rough life but managed to turn it around only to suffer betrayal. And yet, she rose above everything only to stumble and break her foot this year, lose sight in one eye in addition to other neurological symptoms whose cause has yet to be determined. Her four children have been running their farm but she could use financial help especially since there are people trying to claim that her land is not rightfully hers. Instead of saving for her kid’s college, her money has to go to lawyers.

Lastly, Dr. Stacey Patton is a staunch child advocate, her advocacy stemming from the abuse she suffered as a child in the system after becoming orphaned. She lost her mother to suicide and still managed to succeed, help others and make her ancestors proud. Despite not having a paycheck, I donated some of my meager savings to her book fundraiser for HBCU students. These days, I only earn money from Ibotta, Fetch, and occasionally selling a thing or two on eBay. This month, I’ve made a whopping $32.49 or less!

shameless plug: if you want to help me earn some points my Fetch referral code is

E9QMB my Ibotta referral code is dlmxytn

Anyway, thanks for your support AND supporting the Black voices I support ( there are more, but these are the ones that could use your support the most IMHO).
