One person I sent this petition to asked me what my ask is - she claimed she couldn’t glean it from my language. She stated that it is not clear what I am petitioning for specifically. My response is pictured above.

Black women didn’t create the problem, whyte people did. They need to come up with the solution. The highly-paid think tanks at Meta can come up with a tool to ensure bias doesn’t play a role in muting and removing Black members from private groups. I mentioned that the algorithm is biased against antiracist posts and penalizes Black people. That’s a whole ‘nother petition in itself. For my purposes, I just want to shine a light on what is happening, and hopefully it will reach Meta. If they choose to ignore me, then at least I will have spread awareness about this problem and start a conversation about it. Black people should not be going into 2024 feeling like we’re living in 1954.
