As a small family farm in Anne Arundel County, we are deeply concerned about the impact that Bill 61-26 will have on not only our livelihood but also on countless small businesses across our county. Honey's Harvest Farm has been a labor of love, nurtured over years with great passion and dedication, and the thought of potentially losing it due to rushed legislation is heartbreaking.

Bill 61-26 is currently being pushed through without adequate public consultation, and its implications for small businesses have not been thoroughly assessed. The proposed regulations are extensive and burdensome, threatening the survival of many local enterprises.

Without a fair chance to adapt to these changes or even voice our concerns, small businesses could be forced to close, leading to job losses and reduced local food production. Anne Arundel County prides itself on its vibrant community of small businesses that contribute significantly to the local economy.

We request that our elected officials listen to the voices of the people they represent, engage in meaningful dialogue with those affected, and postpone the passing of this bill until after the upcoming election. This will provide enough time for debate, amendments, and the consideration of alternative measures that could support both the objectives of the bill and the sustainability of small businesses.
