If we don’t do something quickly, we are about to wipe out all remaining predators in the Cape. The facts: DA administration has authorised the killing of up to 900 000 animals in the Western Cape in six months, and permitted the continued slaughter at a rate of almost 5000 a day. Even if farmers maintained a fraction of that quota it would amount to mammalian genocide. It is the largest permitted cull of its kind in Africa’s history.
