Beagles are gentle, trusting animals who deserve to live free from unnecessary suffering. Yet they are still used in laboratory testing, where they can be subjected to procedures that cause pain, distress, fear, and long-term harm.

I care about this issue because animals should not have to suffer simply because they cannot speak for themselves. Beagles are known for their friendly and trusting nature, which makes their use in experiments especially difficult to accept. They depend entirely on people for their safety and wellbeing, and we have a responsibility to protect them from avoidable suffering.

I am calling on decision-makers to take meaningful action to end the use of beagles in harmful testing and to support the development and adoption of reliable alternatives, such as advanced non-animal research methods.

Stopping beagle testing would make a real difference. It would prevent countless animals from being subjected to painful or distressing procedures and encourage greater investment in modern research methods that do not rely on animals.
