To Whom It May Concern,

This petition is connected to 17+ banking institutions who are either directly funding the Dakota Access pipeline or who have their hands in it. We need to stand together and speak out, telling them we do not support their funding. There's a better chance of stopping the banks than the oil industry. 

Dear Banking and Financial Institutions:

As customers of your various financial institutions, we reject the notion of OUR money helping to support your investment in the Dakota Access pipeline, an inherently dangerous and unjust oil pipeline that threatens air and water quality in many states, and violates sacred lands of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe. 

We urge you to give up your financial stake in the Dakota Access pipeline immediately.

Banks are funding heavily militarized responses to the Standing Rock Sioux, including the attack dogs, sound-cannon trucks, heavily armed officers, and even a crop duster spraying undetermined chemicals over the camp. (This is not okay).

Why are you sinking so much money into maximizing the amounts of oil and gas that can be brought to the surface and burned at a time when climate science is clear we have to maximize what we keep in the ground instead?

 It's time to stand up for what's right and by funding the pipeline and any of the working parts makes you responsible. 

The public is urging you to STOP FUNDING the pipeline. Pull the money.
