The Alameda County Fair has informed us via email that they will not have the live goldfish prize game at the 2024 event. 

However, during a recent phone conversation with a fair representative, they expressed hesitancy to make a firm commitment or establish a permanent policy against this practice. This means that it can (and probably will) happen at future events.

We will continue to urge the Alameda County Agricultural Fair Association Board of Directors to enact a policy prohibiting live animals as prizes at all future events.
