STOP Aramark CONTRACT (prison food vendor) from serving their vile food to CSUDH students!
The Issue
Aramark (whom has infamously appeared in multiple news outlets for their unfit-to-consume-food throughout the years) was given the opportunity to sign a 10 YEAR contract with California State University Dominguez Hills on July 1st 2022. Students and faculty external to the contract’s conception were notified of this decision on July 20th 2022 via a mass email. Unfortunately, due diligence likely was not exercised during the consummation of the contract. Aramark has already failed prisoners, students, and ordinary consumers through previous contractual obligations. Read below for more about why this heinous contract needs to be canceled.

Aramark has been notorious for serving insect infested, low quality, and spoiled foods to their consumers. This is not limited to prisoners, as their attempts to cater to the public at large has also devolved into further complaints of atrocious food quality. This has affected high school and college students before as well, which furthermore increases the need for this call-to-action.
The contract is not only an issue, but also the extensive length of time: 10 YEARS. If you research this vendor’s previous attempts at rectifying it’s outrageous misconduct, they have accepted fines due to the fact that they can afford it, without notable changes in their operations. This is extremely concerning, as they may have spent more time developing a better contract than a better food supply chain. Food quality is sure to decline over the years, not that the quality isn’t already bad enough.

Please sign this petition so this can be escalated promptly. I’ve been reaching out the past 24 hours however this is complicated to rescind without support. The food vendors are already preparing to host Aramark from what I gathered, and this contract has to end before it begins. Time is of the essence to make sure this vendor does not step foot on California State University Dominguez Hills campus.
In addition, here is some information about our students, and why hosting this food vendor is not only unethical, but also damaging to our community.
