It’s no secret that living in Connecticut is expensive and a lot of it is due to ever-rising utility costs. Connecticut electric customers pay the highest monthly bills in the country outside of Hawaii. So far, we have 'only' ranked 6th in the Nation when it comes to the cost of our water. But this is likely to change, if Eversource, the owner of Aquarion gets its way: Aquarion has recently filed for a 30% rate increase for their bills in Connecticut. Aquarion currently serves 226,000 customers in 68 communities in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

We are saying: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. 

With sub-par fire protection and water quality service, a 30% water bill increase is simply not justified.
