STOP APPROPRIATION TARGETING WILMOT TOWNSHIP FARMLAND

In Wilmot Township, northeast of the intersection at Bleams and Nafziger roads, the Region of Waterloo has made the decision that they will buy 700 acres of land.
The farmland that the region is targeting is owned by several farmers. Each landowner was notified by a representative from the consulting firm Canacre Ltd. that they are being forced to let the Region of Waterloo purchase their property for what they believe is a fair price. However, if the farmers refuse to sell, their properties will be expropriated.
What the region and Canacre believe is a fair price for the land, isn't even close to being enough to purchasing one farm - reported from The Record.
If Waterloo Region does this to several local farmers, who knows, you or me could be next. It's time our community and surrounding towns/ cities join us in taking a stand against the plans of the region and Wilmot Township.
If we truly live in a FREE COUNTRY, there would be no such actions. We can't let them take land from hard working citizens that doesn't belong to them.
SIGN THIS PETITION AND SAY NO TO THE APPROPRIATION OF FARMLAND SCHEDULED FOR WILMOT TOWNSHIP.

What else can we do? Let's overwhelm Regional Chair, Karen Redman, Wilmot Township Mayor, Natasha Salonen, Kitchener - Conestoga MPP, Mike Harris, Ontario Premier, Doug Ford, and Kitchener - Conestoga MP, Tim Louis with phone calls and emails. Let's show them how disgusted we are with this decision and that we urge for them to revoke their plans immediately.
