STOP ANIMAL TESTING AND CRUELTY!

The Issue

Animals and people are alike in many ways. They both think, behave, feel and experience pain. But animal rights are completely violated when it comes to testing, and they should be treated with the same respect that humans receive. Animals are never given a choice about whether they are willing to be tested or not. Animals are often used for tests that mostly are painful or cause permanent damage, and they are never given the option of not participating in the experiment. Sometimes animal testing can even lead to death if it’s not completed correctly. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), just 8% of drugs tested on animals are deemed safe and effective for human use — 92% are not. There are definitely some other alternatives that could be used that end with animals being safe. If I were to witness a saddened animal feeling pain during testing, I would get emotional and feel terrible for what that animal has to go through. There are many companies who use animal testing, including companies like CoverGirl, Olay, Garnier, Neutrogena and more. I would not want to be in the same situation innocent animals are put into when it comes to this cruelty, especially since it barely has any benefits for humans. According to the PETA organization, researchers in U.S. laboratories kill more than 110 million animals in wasteful and unreliable experiments each year. Animals must feel stressed and unsure of what is happening to them. Animals are taken away from their natural habitats for these tests, so they are probably feeling more nervous about everything that’s going on.

To support the cause of keeping animals safe from testing and cruelty, I believe that it is important to use cruelty-free products. By using cruelty-free products, you can help save animals from the pain and suffering associated with animal testing. When you choose to purchase products that are certified as cruelty-free, you are supporting companies that have committed to using alternative methods for testing their products, such as in vitro testing or computer modeling. This reduces the demand for animal testing and encourages companies to adopt more humane practices. Hopefully, others can make more informed choices about the products they purchase. Some businesses that use cruelty- free products include Elf, Lush, Derma E, Glossier and more. By making a conscious effort to purchase cruelty-free products, people can help reduce the number of animals that are used in testing and make a positive impact on animal welfare.

I urge you to stop allowing animal testing and to use alternative methods instead. Please consider the suffering that animals endure during testing, and the impact that this has on their lives. Our community and world must take action in stopping the invasive harm that people are doing to animals.
