Animals are killed in the name of devotion to the God. At Kamakhya Temple and many other like it animals without any mercy are killed just to please humans' God. When asked why is this cruelty still in this 20th century the justification give was 'When the devotees come forward to sacrifice before Maa, we don't have a right to stop them," said Sarma. He added that practising religious traditions is also a Constitutional right which the Kamakhya temple authorities upholds.' Also Arguments in favour of ritual sacrifice -Many poor families in the area depend upon the 'Prasad' (meat of offered animal). The meat is distributed among many tribal families living in the hills surrounding the city. Is this reason enough to kill living beings? Is meat the only way to satisfy their hunger? How can a human for his greed and selfishness kill poor animals just so that some supernatural power can grant him his wishes? Have we really forsaken our souls? 

If sacrifice is needed to please a God why don't we try sacrificing one of our own namely a human who is your child, brother or mother and then let's see how we can continue this so called tradition. Are wildlife the only animals that are allowed to live, because that earns us money? Why do we forget humans are animals to? Why can't be humans with humanity?

Please let's come together and stop this nonsense! Isn't enough damage done to this earth And the animals Because of humans already? Many have lost their lives and many are on their way.

The stakes here are not just animal life it's also our very humanity..
