Violence against animals is more common than we think it is. Poaching is more common than we think it is. Millions of animals are killed each year to create meaningless products for our consumption. Everyday, when we’re drinking coffee or dancing to music, many animals are being killed painfully for their body parts. More specifically luxury brands. Luxury brands all have dark cruel secrets behind them. Every product we see on display in high price brands were once living animals who were forcefully taken from their homes, abused, and died with a long painful death. The products we consume from luxury brands, handbags, belts and shoes are all made of leather. Animal skin. These animals are crammed into small crowded areas that are far too small compared to their natural habitat. When animals are skinned/plucked alive, they aren't given any pain relief. These animals are still conscious and feel every amount of pain during the procedure. Many of the animals after the procedure are still alive and conscious meaning that they would endure the pain from the skin removal until they pass away in a slow and painful death. 

This also impacts us but we don’t see it as much. While these animals are kept in cages, often they would easily get sick and left untreated. As they’re being killed off, the blood goes on the workers, easily passing the disease the animal had onto us humans. This could pass on to other parts of our globe as they are exported into other countries causing the disease to easily spread. 

We all are impacted by poaching one way or another. If this dangerous action continues to go on, many of our animals will go extinct within a blink of an eye. The animals that we see as of now could be rare in future generations if this continues. If continued, more unknown illnesses or sickness could continue to pass. We don’t need animal skin to create handbags or shoes. We don’t need to make jackets out of feathers or furs. We have the materials but we just won’t change for the better. 

We must take action as soon as possible. As more and more animals are killed for luxury products, our animal population is decreasing. Our future is all at stake. If action is not taken, our future will be duller than we think.
