Stop Animal Euthanasia in the United States

Stop Animal Euthanasia in the United States
Why this petition matters
Each year, thousands of animals (mainly dogs and cats) are euthanized. The reasons for this vary; overcrowding of shelters due to an overpopulation of unwanted and abandoned animals, incurable (and especially painful) conditions or diseases, lack of resources to continue supporting the animal, or laboratory test procedures, aggression, and many more. According to Google, (which is where I got the reasons above) It's about aggression – a dog who could or has caused harm to people or other animals. Simply put, some dogs are euthanized because they are unsafe for life in our society. But these are not valid reasons to euthanize an animal.
An animal who is someone’s best friend. An animal who is a stray, but still brings joy to someone who happens to live in the same neighborhood as it. An animal who is being judged based off of its kind or even breed. An animal who is still is a living creature. Who has a beating heart, a brain, a digestive system, and most of the same organs that we do!
Animals are not just some item that you can get rid of and forget about. They make a difference in people’s lives! So no, this is not ok. Each year roughly 390,000 dogs are euthanized, and that’s just an estimate. Each year roughly 860,000 cats are euthanized. And again that’s not 100% correct.
In what world do people think that this is ok? It isn’t! So please, make a difference and sign this petition. And if possible please stop by a local animal shelter near you! There are many ways to help, such as; volunteering, reading to dogs at animal shelters, ( I know what your thinking. But it’s real!) fostering, adopting, donations, and much more. Call or check a local animal shelters website for more information. Thank you.
