My name is Marie and my family and I live in Shawnee, Oklahoma. We have a Potbelly pig Named Bentley, a small Bunny named BunBun and 6 dogs. They are all very well cared for and have been since we found them. Dino and Ghost are pitbulls and we rescued them from extreme circumstances where they were starved so badly they only had their Ribs to show at only 9 weeks. My fiancé, myself and my children nursed them, Socialized them and loved them back to wonderful health and that was 6 years ago. 3 years ago while in Norman Ok my then 7 year old daughter and I were at an appointment when a woman in a white van stopped in the parking lot and tossed out a small puppy, we were able to catch the terrified baby and named her Vee. My daughter nursed this baby, loved her and cared for her with a bond I can’t even explain. My daughter is Autistic and Vee has helped her in ways of coping I never saw coming. All 3 are UTD on shots and everything. The other 3 have had all shots except rabies because Ive recently been on disability and having that as my only income has made it hard to get the rest. Last we have Bear, Maymay and bougie Girl. All 3 are just going to be 1 yrs in November and all 3 we found in a blue tote on the side of the Highway when they were NB’a with everything still attached. 😔 it was heartbreaking to say the least but we managed to save all 3. And like the others before we bottle fed them, socializing them and loved them. We had intended to rehome a few but the bonds they developed with my children has made that almost impossible especially for bear. He has severe social anxiety and Fear aggression and if we were to be forced to surrender him or rehome him I fear he would be harmed, put down etc. Bentley and bunny were abandoned as babies and we just raised them. I need help. I’m the almost 3 years we have lived in our current home we have NEVER had a complaint or any issues u til last year a new lady moved in Nextdoor and has been absolutely miserable to myself and my animals. She has attempted to make complaints that have so far gone Nowhere however in this last week I’ve been sick with the Flu and my youngest have had to walk the dogs on our OWN LAWN but doing there best to make sure to clean up. This atrocious woman used this to her advantage and called animal control this morning claiming my lawn “ smelled bad “ and there was poo all over. I did explain that I’ve been sick and this was a one time issue and it would be cleaned up however the animal officer was terrible rude and gave me a warning and one of the boxes he checked was Animal abuse and neglect. I mean Seriously!!! All for some Poo and because as he explained they all didn’t have Rabies shots… I have been saving to get them and get them tagged but now I face a more terrible issue. If they force me to surrender my dogs they will for sure be put down because of the bond they have with my children they can’t be with other families they just can’t. My home is clean and kept and the dogs are healthy and well cared for it’s not bad conditions. They also claimed that having a pig and bunny was a Sanitation issue??? How? There not dirty and they always have clean and dry Straw and shelter.i am asking for the help of the public. Several people somewhere felt it was ok to Sump these babies at different times to die yet I saved them, nursed them, got them shots and I feed them and everything but somehow I’m the one Neglectful ?? I’m the one being told it’s Cruelty to animals?? If that’s NOT Backwards I don’t know what is. No im not a kennel or boarding house but I am a loving home and I saved there lives. If these were babies I would be no different then an adoptive parent. Someone told me to start a petition so that’s what I’m doing. I need help to keep them Alive because if I’m forced to give them up they will Die there’s no question in that because they would be deemed aggressive and unsuitable to adopt when in reality there just bonded with the family there already meant for and the hearts of my family would be forever broken.. . please. I need to do something and give them a voice. They are happy and loved and deserve a chance at life especially when someone else decided they didn’t deserve to live and we decided they DID… 😔😔🩷🩷
