Animals in Jordan, especially Canaan dogs, a two-thousand-year-old breed in the Middle East, and cats continue to suffer due to lack of awareness about animals, and animal rights in the country. Dogs are being systematically killed by the government, either by poisoning them or shooting them. Psychopaths abuse and kill animals in Jordan, and go unpunished. It has been proven that serial killers start their careers by practicing on innocent animals, and then moving to bigger prey: human beings.

Pet shops are not properly regulated, causing the spread of puppy and kitten mills. There is also the issue of animal theft and pet black market, amid total disregard of the police. Animal rights are a sign of a civilised nation and which all religions support.

Please help us persuade the Jordanian Government to enforce animal protection laws, and penalties against abusers.
