Help us free the hens suffering in cages around the world! Igreca, a global egg-manufacturer, has been exposed as failing to report progress on its cage-free promise.

In 2020, Igreca promised the world it would go globally cage-free. But guess what? It’s been nearly five (5) years and Igreca’s gone silent. That’s right - no updates, no progress reports, and no sign that hens in Igreca’s supply chain are living a life free from a cage as they were promised and deserve.

Cages are a nightmare for hens and are undeniably cruel. Cages are so small, and packed with birds, that the hens can’t move or spread their wings. Often, their body parts are caught in the caging, resulting in fractured or broken bones, deformities, and severe feather loss. Some hens, exhausted or unable to move, are trampled to death by their confined cage mates. Hens in these cages are forced to live, breathe, and lay eggs for human consumption while trapped amongst feces and rotting bodies. That’s not life, it’s torture. 

But it doesn’t have to be this way. We need Igreca to be transparent and accountable. They promised a cage-free future within their global supply chain, and we need to see proof that they’re working towards it—no more waiting, no more hiding, and no more silence.

Hundreds of companies around the world are ditching cages and have the reports to prove it. It is unacceptable that Igreca refuses to be transparent about their global progress!
