Stop animal cruelty and reinforce animal rights — protect those who cannot speak out!
The Issue
Many rights of animals have been violated either in plain sight by the industries that benefit off of them or behind our backs in shady businesses such as puppy mills and dog fighting rings. These animals are taken advantage of, often for monetary purposes. Whether it is getting eaten, being improperly bred and dying from genetic mutations, or fighting to the death, these animals deserve so much more than they ended up living for.
The first point that I would like to go over is the cruelty of dog fighting rings and the absurdity of their continued existence. In these fights, dogs are almost always killed on both sides. The losers are usually killed in a matter of seconds and the winners often die afterwards from blood loss due to the wounds received during the fight. They must also suffer the training dogs are usually put through beforehand. They are intentionally hurt, put on chains and in small spaces for their whole lives, and are forced to attack other dogs beforehand in order to learn how to kill. This is just one reason that we need to reinforce the laws put up to prevent this form of animal cruelty.
Another reason to strengthen animal rights laws is to prevent improper animal breeding which could lead to the death of many animals. For example, a puppy mill is a place where a dog breeder breeds a massive quantity of puppies only for the purpose of profit. But the mothers of these puppies are often mistreated and die due to the sheer quantity of puppies that they must give birth to. And when they die, usually a daughter of the original dog's litter ends up taking their place. And with this cycle of many dogs breeding within their own family is that the litter gets more and more genetic mutations as a result of inbreeding.
One final major violation of animal rights is the genetic engineering of animals. As technology has evolved, there have been many advancements in many areas including the unethical genetic modification of living animals for our own benefit. There have been genetic alterations on livestock that seem to disregard the lives of the animals. One such alteration is the increased growth speed that transgenic animals deal with which ultimately leads to health issues as the species aren’t used to such growth.
What we want to achieve with this petition is for laws against animal cruelty to be strengthened. We are striving for more severe repercussions for animal abusers, and for existing laws to be expanded to cover more areas. If enough people show their recognition for this need, then lawmakers must update the laws to save more animals.
These dogs and animals are being abused every day, so the more time we wait, the more suffering will occur. If we can get enough people to support our cause, we can make major changes, coming down harder on animal abusers, and thus reducing the amount of abuse happening. Please sign our petition and show our cause to others so we can help animals as soon as possible.
