Recently, abused dogs, both alive and deceased, have been found on dumping grounds – a potent symbol of the pain and suffering many animals endure in silence.

Animal abuse is not only a severe issue on moral grounds but is also illegal under South Carolina's animal protection laws. Despite this, many crimes against animals remain unpunished and not enough effort is made to prevent them. We demand that authorities take immediate action when called upon to diminish the rates of animal abuse and cruelty in our community, establish a stronger system of animal protection, and ensure justice for dogs found abused or deceased on the dumping grounds.
