Das Problem
Amirhossein Jabbari is not just a name; he is my friend. At just 26 years old, he is facing the unimaginable—an imminent deportation from Denizli, Turkey, back to a country where his life will be at grave risk.
Amirhossein converted to Christianity, a decision that brought him peace and faith but also placed a target on his back in his home country. He has been politically active, striving for positive change in the world. Recognized by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) since 2017, he was acknowledged as a person needing protection. Yet, now he finds himself locked up, awaiting deportation that could likely lead to persecution or even death.
In many countries, converting one's religion is a personal right that should be respected, not punished. Amirhossein deserves the freedom to live without fear of persecution because of his faith. Deporting him to a place where this fundamental human right is not respected is a violation of international human rights standards.
We demand that the authorities immediately halt his deportation. Amirhossein must be released at once and granted access to a lawyer who will ensure his rights are protected. It's unthinkable to stand by while a friend is sent to what could be his death.
Let’s unite to stop this tragedy from unfolding. Every signature counts. By signing this petition, you become his voice. You stand against injustice and for human rights. Please, lend your voice to Amirhossein by signing and sharing this petition now. Together, we can make a difference and save a life.
