As a cancer survivor and recent amputee, my wife and I experienced first-hand the unjust business practice of American Airlines. We had purchased Lie-Flat seats for our last three trips from NYC to Maui, only to be arbitrarily downgraded to regular business class seats. Each time we received an impersonal email stating "Changes to your upcoming flight(s)", which in reality meant that the comfort we had paid for was being taken away from us.

This is not just about comfort - it's about fairness and respect for consumers. When a ticket is bought and paid for, it should be honored as such. It's unacceptable that a company as large as American Airlines resorts to such bait-and-switch tactics.

According to the U.S Department of Transportation (DOT), airlines are required by law to provide prompt refunds when they cancel flights or make significant changes (Source: DOT). However, this doesn't seem applicable when airlines decide on their own terms what constitutes a 'significant change'.

We demand that American Airlines (and Others?) stop this unfair practice immediately and honor all tickets as they were initially sold. This is not just about us - it's about all passengers who have been subject to these arbitrary changes without any compensation or proper communication.
