Stop Amazon Rainforest Destruction! Say No to the Ferrograo Railroad!

The Issue

The Amazon Rainforest is the largest rainforest in the world and helps to stabilise the climate on our planet by reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

The Amazon Rainforest is home to so many diverse species of animals and plants that many have not been discovered yet! It is also home to many indigenous people who have lived there in harmony for centuries.

All this is at stake and we need your help!

Say No to the Ferrograo Railroad that will destroy the Amazon Rainforest’s ecosystem!

Large transnational companies are pressuring the Brazilian government to promote the destruction of the Amazon, the Cerrado and its peoples and communities!

Powerful forces want a railroad to be built in the middle of the forest to further increase the production and export of soybeans and corn in Mato Grosso and Pará. The project is known as Ferrogrão and threatens the equivalent of more than 285,000 football fields of protected areas.

But there is a way to stop this absurdity - if we act now and collectively.

We will convince the Brazilian government to definitively cancel this death project. There is still time to prevent these trails of destruction from advancing!

Who benefit are the large transnational companies

Ferrogrão is not for passengers, it is a project of Cargill, ADM, Bunge, Louis Dreyfus and Amaggi, large agribusiness companies that want to increase their profits at the expense of the destruction of our biomes and the rights of indigenous peoples and traditional communities in the region.

Indigenous people and traditional communities are being ignored.

Ferrogrão is being planned without the right to prior, free and informed consultation of indigenous peoples and traditional communities in the region being respected. At least 16 indigenous lands and 104 rural settlements would be affected.

SAY NO TO THE DEATH TRAIN THROUGH THE AMAZON!

SIGN THE PETITION NOW

We ask the Brazilian government for the immediate and definitive cancellation of the Ferrogrão project, ensuring the integrality of the Jamanxim National Park, and to promote the due accountability of ADM, Bunge, Cargill, Amaggi and Louis Dreyfus for the damage incurred against nature and the peoples and communities of the Tapajós and Xingu region.

We ask to preserve the Amazon Rainforest for the future of our biodiverse planet and life on earth.
