The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) in the UK also advocates for pre-stunning to prevent unnecessary suffering. Compassion in World Farming, an organization dedicated to improving animal welfare, states that the stress caused by such practices is immense and preventable with alternative methods.

Many countries around the world have adapted their laws to ensure that no animal faces undue suffering during slaughter. The European Union, for instance, generally requires pre-stunning, with very few exceptions. It's time the UK follows suit and revises its legislation to reflect the importance of animal welfare and compassion.
