Dear Supporters Thanks so much for signing. We have almost 4000 signatures but need to grow this petition and continue with related actions. Worryingly I received reports yesterday from Jamaica that a Virgin airline scheduled passenger plane was due to land in Jamaica today with some people deported from the UK in board, around 3 people were expected. I was advised that theur bookings on that flight had been cancelled but that they were expected to arrive on Friday or Monday. This is very concerning as the Home Office press office gave a verbal assurance that there would be no deportations by air from the UK to Jamaica during the month of May. You could help by contacting the Home Office to ask questions and raising with your MP. Yesterday the Labour Party Windrush / motion was disappointingly lost with Tory MPs whipped to vote against it disgracefully. On May Day, BMElawyers4Justice which my organisation BARAC UK is a founding member of launchedcan 11 point plan for justice for those impacted not just in the Caribbean but other Commonwealth countries; http://blackactivistsrisingagainstcuts.blogspot.co.uk/2018/05/press-release-bmelawyers4justice-launch.html?m=1 If you or your family are impacted and need support, legal advice or representation, including those who may have already been deported, please get in touch. Our campaign has received International media interest including the UK, France, Jamaica and Trinidad. Those responsible must be held accountable and there must be justice for all impacted. Here's a news piece on the meeting in Parliament organised by David Lammy MP referred to in my last update; https://news.sky.com/video/labour-want-secret-windrush-papers-11355197 Thank you for your ongoing support.
