Dear Chair Ring and Government Oversight and Accountability Committee Members, I am very concerned about SB 642 which contemplates the withdrawal of oversight of the new rail system funding. The bill was introduced by Senator Brandes and unanimously passed out of the Transportation Committee he chairs on Feb. 13, 2014. SB 642 is now being reviewed by your committee and we ask you to vote NO on this bill. I am at a loss why this would be a good idea when All Aboard Florida, a subsidiary of FECI, is seeking government backed financing using with the same funding model that caused the housing collapse.
