Our neighborhood has been repeatedly violated by transient Airbnb renters. Our peaceful community, in its agriculturally zoned setting, has been disrupted in ways we never imagined. Vehicles have been broken into, and traffic has more than tripled, leading to near-miss accidents, posing significant threats to our safety. More alarming still, firearms are being discharged in proximity to our livestock, endangering not only our animals but also our children and families.

Our quiet, agricultural environment has become unrecognizable. This drastic transformation has led to frequent visits from the Fire Department, the Sheriff's Department, and the State Police—visible interruptions that only highlight how unsuitable and dangerous the situation has become. Moreover, our farm's livestock guardian dogs, bred to protect our animals, have been falsely reported to the dog warden by guests unfamiliar with rural life and its demands.

The increase in non-residents ignoring community norms disrupts everyday life. We have dealt with instances of guests walking their dogs on our property, causing distress to our animals and leaving waste behind without consideration for our land and community.

We are urging our local authorities to take immediate and effective action to cease Airbnb operations in our area. Protecting the integrity and safety of our agriculturally zoned neighborhood must be a priority. By halting Airbnb operations, we can preserve our way of life, ensure community safety, and maintain the tranquility and functionality of our privately-owned roads.
