AI is everywhere. As a young person, i'm told that it's my job to help save the planet. As a creative person, i've been told to stop creating. AI really puts a dim on all of that. Back in August, I started a petition for my school to stop using AI for posters, then i saw an AI banner outside of an elementary school and i realized this issue is bigger than Kahuku. It's bigger than just this island, too. AI being used in schools that have art classes, students willing to make posters, and even digital design classes is disgusting. If i were to use AI in my assignments, id fail. So why do the adults that run the school get to use AI to make posters? There are at least 17 schools on Oahu alone that use AI to make posters. This is completely unacceptable. We are teaching young people that its ok to take the easy way out and that they should give up on their artistic dreams. I've also seen some AI slop posters with tribal patterns on them, which is completely disrespectful. the list of horrible things goes on and on and on.

If you don't know why AI is bad, please do some research or check out @stopaioahu on instagram. It is important that we do this now because the longer it goes on, the more resources are being used.
