Putting a high-voltage power line in our area would be absolutely devastating for our family and our community. We have four kids, and the potential health concerns, noise, and constant stress of living under such a massive line are simply unacceptable. We moved out here specifically to get away from crowded development and to give our children a safer, quieter life surrounded by nature. This is why we're deeply concerned about the plans from Aes Power Company to erect high-voltage powerlines across farmlands and private properties in Morgan County, Indiana 

The introduction of these powerlines poses significant risks to both the health of our community and the preservation of our rural landscape. Studies have shown that exposure to high-voltage powerlines can lead to adverse health effects, including increased risk of cancer, childhood leukemia, and cardiovascular problems. Additionally, the presence of these structures brings an inevitable noise pollution that detracts from the peaceful, serene environment that Morgan County's residents cherish.

Economically, the construction of these powerlines threatens the local agricultural community. Many farmers, whose livelihoods depend on undisturbed land, will face challenges as powerlines can damage crops, disrupt livestock, and decrease property values. For those of us who have invested resources, time, and love into our properties, the emotional and financial loss is incalculable.

We understand the importance of infrastructure development, but it must be pursued without compromising community health and well-being. We urge Aes Power Company to reassess their plans and consider alternative solutions such as rerouting powerlines away from residential and agricultural areas or investing in underground cabling technologies that mitigate the impact on people and the environment.

We call upon local government officials and environmental agencies to stand with us in protecting our lands, our health, and our community. We can choose sustainable development without sacrifice, but it requires your support and intervention.
