Stop Abusive Plan to 'Slow-Kill' Sri Lanka's Dogs and Cats

Stop Abusive Plan to 'Slow-Kill' Sri Lanka's Dogs and Cats
The Issue
A scientifically and clinically proven damaging and life-threatening drug named Depo-Provera is planned to be injected as a chemical steralization on free-roaming dogs and domestic dogs of local communities by the Public Health Vetenirary Services in Sri Lanka (PHVS) with funding from WHO.
There is sufficient proof of the harmful side-effects of even a single dose of this drug on dogs and cats. If at the time of administration there are fetuses at any stage in their wombs, the fetuses perish and decay and are atrophied amongst the ever-growing pus-filled uterus. Fetuses can only be detected with scanning especially at the very early states and PHVS are fully aware that they will not be able to do this on free-roaming dogs prior to administering the drug thereby causing painful death of these animals. The State Veterinary Surgeons' Association of Sri Lanka has made a strong statement AGAINST THE USE OF THIS DRUG with no visible reaction by WHO or the Ministry of Health to stop it.
There is need to control the dog population but administering a well-known harmful drug under any circumstances is unethical and a clear case of animal abuse by a State and International Organizaiton that should know better.
PLEASE SIGN YOUR PROTEST AGAINST THIS ABUSE THAT WOULD LEAD TO THE INEVITABLE SUFFERING AND DEATH OF DOGS AND CATS INJECTED WITH THE DEPO-PROVERA DRUG.
