According to this article, the University of Michigan has killed 12,000 animals in experimental testing over the last four years. The President, Santa Ono,  and board of the university are doing nothing about it. 

Aside from the killing, the conditions of the animals being tested are very poor. Experimenters at the University of Michigan limit their access to water, give them expired drugs, and fail to provide them the proper medication when needed. These people aren't veterinarians and have no care for the welfare of animals. They just want to get results for their research even though it creates torture and suffering for these animals. Animal testing needs to stop, now.

I don't know much about PETA (and am therefore not saying it's good nor bad) but it says this good message among many others in the article: “PETA encourages U-M students to call on the school’s administration to implement measures to shift away from the use of animals, toward modern, non-animal, human-relevant methodologies."

I agree with this statement a lot. UMich could easily try to do experiments not involving animals but apparently they're not acknowledging that. They just need to end animal testing; it's inhumane and we need to spread the word about this and do something to stop it. Not only UMich students, but everyone.

If no one does anything, this will keep happening since the power-holding board and President of the university refuse to acknowledge it. We all need to do our part to stop the atrocities that animals unfairly go through at this university and around the world. We need to play our part now, to save so many lives that UMich would otherwise harm and waste through disgusting testing.
