Hello Georgetown community,
If you submitted emails to the town regarding the 6 storey building by Kindred Works/ Norval United Church, you likely have received the email update from John McMulkin regarding 2nd Submission of Official Plan.
The 2nd submission unfortunately does not change the shape or size of the structure or the design aesthetic to compliment the surrounding neighborhood.
The status right now is at STEP 4 (of 6) of the process which is “Revisions to the Proposal” for the Town Planning to review. Once/if the Planning department approves it is then presented to Town Council to approve. If/when approved by Council, it moves to “5-Design Approval” and then “6-Construction Permits”.
There is no further public meeting with residents planned. The Council meetings are open to the public to attend and observe but only registered presenters can speak.
Please email and or call the Planning Department on your continued concerns with this project. Correspondence is the only voice the community has right now. Council needs to be reminded of the 1400+ residents that have concerns with this project for the surrounding community.
