Otford is not just a place; it is a home where our community thrives amidst the beautiful countryside. However, Fairfax's proposal to develop Sevenoaks District Council's Local Plan Site ST4-7 threatens to alter this landscape forever with the construction of approximately 1,500 houses.

The  proposed development would lead to irreversible changes. As of now, no detailed planning application has been published, yet the scale of this initiative is alarming, recklessly ignoring the ability of local infrastructure to cope with such massive development which would build more houses than currently exist in the whole Parish of Otford. Our local infrastructure is already stretched to its limits — our roads are congested and health services are struggling to keep up with demand. We are facing frequent issues with basic utilities like water and electricity. Introducing such a large development is a recipe for disaster.

The character of Otford and its surrounding countryside is at risk. This project, adjacent to a nature reserve would mean increased traffic, pollution, and a loss of green spaces, impacting both wildlife and residents. Our historical sites and natural beauty could be overshadowed by urban sprawl. 

We, the undersigned, ask Fairfax not to pursue development of this land.
