Voorheesville is a small, charming town, and home to a local historical landmark called Smith's Tavern, fondly known as Smitty's. Stewart's Shops have made their intentions known that they would like to relocate their current Voorheesville location to the corner of 156 and 85A, which is the home to our beloved tavern. There are three other Stewart's locations in close proximity to our community, and the last thing our little village needs is a big box convenience store in the middle of town. Also, right behind Smitty's there exists a pretty fabulous trout stream, annually stocked by the State DEC. What would be the fate of this asset if Stewart's moves in? Stewart's Shops needs to find a different location, and leave our traditions and our Smith's Tavern alone.
