Add Silver Springs to the Fleetwood Mac Set List

The Issue

Problem
"Silver Springs," a lesser-known Fleetwood Mac song, is arguably one of the band's most emotionally charged tunes. Stevie Nicks wrote "Silver Springs" after she and Lindsay Buckingham ended their relationship, but the aftermath of the song makes it even more important to the band's story. As one Rolling Stone article says, "Stevie was in love with the song." Additionally, Nicks gave her mother Barabara the publishing rights to the song, making it all the more special to her. While the song was recorded to go on the Rumors album, during the final production it was cut from the track list and instead relegated to the B-side of "Go Your Own Way." Without "Silver Springs" on the set list, the tour is incomplete- there is no way to confront the Nicks/Buckingham relationship and address the absence of Buckingham from the current tour without including this haunting, beautiful song.

Solution
Silver Springs should be added to the set list for the 2018-19 tour. The song represents the band's past, and what better way to honor it than with a complex song about love and what could have been.

Personal story
I am a huge Fleetwood Mac fan as a whole, and like many, a follower of Stevie Nicks. She is an icon and incredibly talented, and I hope this tour can bring her catharsis. Silver Springs is my favorite Fleetwood Mac song, not only because of the story behind it, but because it is so relatable. We've all been there- a sense of what could have been, a conversation with a person you love who just isn't listening.
