We will not declare victory till Harley is returned!

Thank you for all your signatures. They work. Lieutenant Brad McVay, the recipient of all your emails contacted us today assured us he would put someone of the case. True to his word I was then contacted by Sergeant Mike McCoy. As I already knew there is no magic wand that's going to allow anyone, even the police, to walk in and retrieve Harley for us. That said. After spending about a hour on the phone with Sgt McCoy, I did feel that the Santa Barbara Sheriff Dept do have Sara and Harley's best interests in mind. Sgt McCoy's reassuring voice and quick understanding of the situation, left me feeling pretty good that the Sheriff Dept would do everything they can to help and support our case against the Maldonado's.

As planned we were able to file a claim against the Maldonado's today. Unfortunately the trial will not be till January 21st of next year. Yes, that is crazy long time!!! I won't go into the details of the claim other than we did give the Maldonado's the option to DO THE RIGHT THING. Please make arrangements to return Harley by November 21, 2014, and in exchange we will dismiss the claim. If I could give you Steven Maldonado’s personal email I would. I know some of his friends, and relatives have seen this petition passed around Facebook. Hi there, welcome, please. If you’re reading this right now. I urge you to convince Steven to wake up, and do the right thing.

I’ve looked at this in every conceivable way and I just don’t see how any judge could find for the defendant. As Steven admitted himself, Sara paid for the Dog, she is the registered owner, and Harley has lived with her continuously since Steven was hauled off the jail. I just don’t see it. Combine that with all of the evidence that he is clearly using Harely as leverage in what is hopeless effort in reconciling his relationship with Sara. I may not have Steven’s email but I can still print all your signatures, and deliver them in person.(well not me) But you get the idea. With that in mind I’m keeping the petition open.
