The Issue

The documentary series on Netflix called "Making a Murderer" (Series 1 & 2)  highlights the plight of Steven Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey.

After viewing it many many times and analyzing all the case files, I am outraged with this injustice which have been allowed to occur & left unchecked.   Manitowoc County in Wisconsin, U.S.A. is the setting for this wrongful conviction.  Avery's unconstitutional mistreatment at the hands of corrupt local law enforcement is completely abhorrent and is a total denial of his constitutional rights

Steven Avery should be granted a new trial as his current conviction is patently unreliable, and the Manitowoc County officials complicit in his two false imprisonments should be held accountable to the highest extent of the U.S. criminal and civil justice systems.

Please consider signing this petition in support not only of Steven and Brendan but for justice to prevail for all concerned.  Your signature is very very important.

May 2025 Addition:

Despite overwhelming evidence presented to various levels of the Wisconsin court system indicating  that Steven Avery's conviction is unreliable, he still languishes in prison (now for a  total of 37 years) without even an opportunity to formally present and debate the considerable newly discovered evidence.  The courts have blocked him at every step.

Steven Avery's constitutional entitlements to a fair trial have been continuously block so the case is now going to the Federal Court of the United States based on those constitutional violations.
