The Gaston County Animal Control abuses its power and manipulates the current NC animal statutes to inflict harm on animals. It fails to serve the county's citizens in a professional and caring way. Our sweet small dog, Ace, that was born with a limp, dug out of our fence on Saturday, May 3, 2014. Gaston County Animal Control picked him up on Sunday, May 4, 2014 when their office is closed, and immediately killed him!! When we contacted GC Animal Control on Monday, May 5, 2014, the employees denied ever having seen him. When they could no longer deny what they had done due to witness testimony, they told us it was our fault because he wasn't wearing his tags.
