Athens County and the students and professors of Ohio University are in dire need of an actual bookstore, such as Barnes & Noble. Little Professor is fantastic, but it doesn't meet all the students' and locals' needs. With Barnes & Noble being within walking distance from campus, everyone could benefit and have a lot more options when it comes to buying books, board games, music, paper, etc. Its warm ambiance will quickly become a new study place with the included Starbucks. (We can never have too many Starbucks for the college students, either.) More bookstores will create higher literacy rates among the poorest county in Ohio. Not to mention, many authors visit local Barnes & Nobles to give presentations and speeches on their writings. Finally, Barnes & Noble is a host to many school fundraisers and helpful classes. Please encourage everyone you know to spread the word!
