This is an extraordinary time and an extraordinary opportunity to correct a long overlooked handicap to working Americans who contribute to 401k plans.

Retirement values are vaporizing at significant double digit percentages in barely a week, the followup insult of a forced sale in accounts of individuals that make $125,000 for Highly Compensated Employee rules is truly onerous. 

I urge our Senators, Representatives, Steve Mnuchin, Secretary of Treasury and Charles Rettig, Commissioner of Internal Revenue to address the laughably low testing thresholds for HCE and reset them to $300,000 for Married filers and $160,000 for Single filers immediately (tax year 2019) in the current stimulus bills and remedy the issue going forward with step ups annually.

Families throughout the country are desperately challenged by the COVID 19 shut downs and economic collapse.  Preserving dignity in retirement and enhancing the recovery of nation's economy are of prime importance now.   We all benefit for such a common sense reform.
