The Issue

Nurses and Healthcare workers are part of the critical frontline against the COVID-19 pandemic. As workers, nurses need every resource and tool available to safely provide the best care possible for our community, properly protect ourselves from the virus and have the needed support in this ongoing pandemic.

As a public hospital, Tri-City Medical Center (TCMC) serves those in greatest need. TCMC must take the appropriate and immediate actions to put the health of the community first and protect its nurses. Patient care and safety must be the priority, health before profits. Protecting nurses is protecting patients.

We the undersigned, CNA Nurses at Tri-City Hospital are signing onto this petition to demand the Administration of TCMC and its agents take the following necessary actions to ensure patient care:

1) Immediately secure travelers and registry RNs for safe staffing and patient care;

2) Increase recruitment of RNs via a incentive/sign-on bonus to address the staff needs;

3) Increase resources to support RNs- Fully staff units with ACTs, Lift-Teams, Secretaries and security personnel;

4) Give us breaks, provide break shifts, every unit, every shift;

5) End all furloughs.

Nurses give 100% each day for their patients, now, we need TCMC to give 100% for the frontline- Nurses.
