Although puppy mills are illegal, the sale of puppies imported from these illegal puppy mills are permitted. These puppies mother's are kept in terrible conditions such as: being cramped in cages their entire lives, forced to breed in order to make "commercial" dogs, and not to mention the poor health that the puppies have after being bred so inhumanely. There are also millions of puppies in adoption centers and shelters waiting to have a loving family. A common phrase said by people defending these stores is "all dogs need homes." Although this statement is true, the only reason there are puppies in stores is because of people who continue to buy from them therefore giving them business. Puppy mills are also overpopulated with dogs, and often end up being killed when they're not sold, so overall, there is no puppy that gets to live the life it deserves if we continue to buy from these cruel stores. If someone you know gets their pets or toys from these stores, make sure to educate them on what this does to these poor creatures. No one ever wants to be the reason that more and more dogs get abused, force bred, and trapped in cages their entire lives. All dogs deserve to see the sun every day and live a fulfilled life.
