Students at Stephen F. Austin State University and many other universities across the nation are currently out on spring break. Many of these students are traveling across the United States and outside of the country for vacation. 

As more and more cases of the Coronavirus have popped up across the state of Texas and other popular travel destinations, the need for caution is especially important. Several universities in Texas and other states have halted the return of students following Spring Break due to health and safety concerns. As the threat of exposure becomes severely more common as the days progress, it is the job of the University to protect its students and staff from unnecessary health concerns.

We are urging Stephen F. Austin State University to please consider canceling classes on Monday and Tuesday, March 16 and 17, as many other universities have, in order to allow travelers who may have been exposed to COVID-19 during the break to take proper health precautions and minimize the chance of spreading.
