To reverse their decision to sell the local Wildlife & Conservation area.

The Issue

On the 5th November Staverton Parish Council took the decision to sell their Wildlife and Conversation area to a local factory owner.  They failed to consult with local people before taking this decision and on the agenda for the meeting described the land as as an area that is unused and boggy and a liability for the parish.  In fact the land was bought by Council about 20 years ago and following an ecological survey by Consultant Ecologist Dr. Peter Beale was official desiginated as a Wildlife and Conservation area and a deliberate 'hands off' management plan was put in place.  Such areas are extremely rare in the UK and so very valuable.  There is only a short period of time in which the sale can be reversed and so it is important that we get as many signatures as possible to prevent this sale.
