We the undersigned represent the not-for-profit heart of Staunton comprising almost 250 organizations that range from cultural life to community building to social service and serve as employers of more than 1,000 residents.  We are vital to both the quality of life and the economic viability of our community.  We are the foundation of the social safety net as well as drivers of the economy to the collective tune of over $13 million each year.

Covid 19 has decimated our businesses and our ability to remain financially viable while we fulfill our missions.

We deserve access to the City of Staunton's CARES municipal funds, at least in equal proportion to the Staunton Business Community through a legitimate application process.  Without relief, many of us will not be here in 2022.

By signing this petition we lift our voices up to demand attention from the Staunton City Council and recognition, through funding, of the vital resource we represent in Staunton.
