Help Stop The Use of Shock Collars (US)

Help Stop The Use of Shock Collars (US)
The Issue
In 2003 researchers, Matthias Schindler and Joanne Van Der Borg, in the Netherlands studied the short and long term behavioral effects of training dogs with the use of shock collars. Their research found that ALL but 7 of the dogs apart of their study were left with adverse affects. They showed signs of stress and fear during their training sessions, they also showed signs of pain during the training sessions when shocked. They would yelp, cry out, bark, and turn away in pain.
Many studies have proven and shown pets AND their owner benefit more from positive reinforcement training in comparison to aversive training. The use of shock collars (e-collars) has been proven to cause aggression in some dogs, leading them to attack their owner and/or other animals. Many dogs have become injured from the use of shock collars, painful electric burns show around the dogs neck that can become infected and leave scars.
Please sign and share this petition to spread the awareness of the harmful effects the use of shock collars cause. Sign to take a personal oath to never use a shock collar on an animal or support breeders/trainers/vets that use them or suggest the use of e-collars. Share to raise more awareness so that we can eventually push for the ban of E-collars on state levels.
