Hold Sandra Eastman accountable for violation of no trespass order and protect her unborn child from her custody
The Issue
In February 2014, Dennis Duby was charged with brutally murdering his two year old step daughter, Dezirae Sheldon. He was released on 250,000 bail with conditions that he remain at a court approved residence with a 24 hour curfew, and that he have no contact with the victims mother, Sandra Eastman.
While released on bail, Dennis Duby was granted a relief from abuse/ no trespass order on Sandra Eastman. She was ordered to stay away from Dennis Duby and his court ordered residence.
In March 2015, merely a year after being charged with murder, Dennis Duby was found in violation of his conditions of release; he was not abiding by his 24 hour curfew and was jailed on March 13th pending trial of the murder of Dezirae Sheldon.
However, it has recently been discovered that Sandra Eastman is NOW FIVE MONTH PREGNANT WITH THE CHILD OF DENNIS DUBY, meaning she was in PHYSICAL contact with him after he posted bail on the charges of murdering her two year old, and after she was ordered to stay away from him and his residence.
Sandra Eastman has not been charged with any involvement in the murder of her two year old daughter, but has a lengthy criminal history of abuse and neglect. She had three children, one who has been murdered and two who have been removed from her custody by the state of Vermont. Ages; six, two (deceased), and one years of age.
When her daughter Dezirae was one year of age, she was found to be suffering from two broken legs. Sandra Eastman was found guilty of a misdemeanor charge of child cruelty by medical neglect due to the medical professional's conclusion that the fractures could not have been caused by a typical fall, but were instead caused by abuse. Dezirae was removed from Sandra's care and placed in state custody. Sandra was able to regain sole custody of Dezirae merely weeks prior to her death, despite warnings and pleas of family members who were concerned for the toddlers safety. Sandra regained sole custody of Dezirae on February 6th, 2014. She turned two years old on February 18th, 2014. She was brutally assaulted on February 19th, 2014. She was pronounced brain dead due to extensive cranial damage and removed from life support on February 21st, 2014. It's still unclear why Dezirae Sheldon was returned to her mother when she doesn't have custody of her other children.
Newspaper clipping detailing the actions of Sandra Eastman and Dennis Duby following the death of the toddler;
'Duby told investigators that he believed the child had fallen off a table and said he’d seen her fall from a toilet and a sink on the afternoon of Feb. 19.
But physicians who treated Dezirae at Rutland Regional Medical Center and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., told police they suspected the child was abused.
A doctor at RRMC told police that CT scans of the girl revealed skull fractures to both sides of her head suggesting “that someone held her head so tight, her skull cracked.”
An autopsy further concluded that Dezirae died as a result of blunt force trauma and the manner of her death was a homicide.
Duby, who submitted to a polygraph test, told investigators he was home alone with the toddler and his and Eastman’s 6-week-old daughter when the fatal injury occurred.
He said he was caring for the newborn when Dezirae wandered into a bedroom. Minutes later he said he heard a “thud.” When he went to investigate, he said he found his stepdaughter lying on her back with her eyes open but she didn’t respond when he tried to talk to her.
When investigators challenged him on his story, he allegedly changed some elements. In the altered version he said he fell asleep and woke up to see his stepdaughter in the bathroom, where she fell from the toilet and the sink.
The girl didn’t appear injured, was not crying and walked out of the bathroom, he said.
In both versions, Duby maintained that the fatal fall occurred in the bedroom while he was in another room.
Detective Sgt. Albert “Butch” Abdelnour wrote that police investigated Eastman as well after doctors and nurses at the two hospitals said the mother appeared to be “inappropriately unemotional.”
One doctor told police that Eastman seemed “out.”
A nurse at RRMC said the lack of emotion, along with the time Eastman spent talking or texting on her cellphone, “weirded” him out.
But video recordings from a laundromat and supermarket in Poultney confirmed that the mother was out of the home last Wednesday afternoon. She left the Shaw’s supermarket at 3:18 p.m. — five minutes before the 911 call, Abdelnour wrote.
Eastman told police that Duby called her at the supermarket and told her there had been an accident. She said 911 wasn’t called until after she returned home.' (http://www.rutlandherald.com/article/20140225/THISJUSTIN/702259905)
In 2008, Sandra was convicted of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child after admitting to having sex with a 15-year-old boy and getting pregnant with his child. She struck a deal with prosecutors, but the charge was coded incorrectly and her record only reflected lewd and lascivious conduct, no mention of child involvement. Lawmakers also discovered Eastman spent less time behind bars than the statutory minimum for the crime. Eastman was also supposed to be a lifetime registrant of the public sex offender registry, yet her name is nowhere to be found.
Sandra's first born child was conceived as a result of the sexual contact she had with the minor. When this child was two years of age, she was removed from Sandra's custody by the state after it was shown that she was incapable of providing shelter and care for the child. She was remanded to stay 300 feet from the child due to allegations of abuse, but the order was never put into effect.
Sandra's now one-year-old child was removed from her care at the time of Dezirae Sheldon's murder and placed in state custody. The infant was six weeks old at the time, and is the biological child of Sandra Eastman and Duby.
Sandra Eastman is currently residing in the state of New Hampshire, where she is planning to give birth. It is believed she is planning to give the child up for adoption to a family member in New Hampshire so she will be able to maintain contact with the child.
The purpose of this petition is to stop this from happening. Sandra Eastman has had all of her children removed from her care by State of Vermont court order. Weeks after she regained custody of her two year old, the toddler was murdered. She has broken a relief from abuse order by being in contact with dennis Duby, who was also violation conditions of release via contact with Sandra. This petition asks that Sandra Eastman be held accountable for the violation of her abuse/trespassing order, and that the states of Vermont and New Hampshire proactively take custody of her unborn child and place him or her in a safe and loving environment, protected and sheltered from Sandra Eastman.
Please sign and show your support of her innocent unborn child. Please show the state of Vermont that Sandra Eastman has already been neglected by the justice system and was never held accountable for her charges of lewd and lavicious conduct with a child- and We the People demand she be held accountable for her violation of the trespass order. We the People demand that the proper authorities initiate a paternity test immediately to supply as evidence of such violation, and to enter into evidence of the murder trial of Dezirae Sheldon. Do not let this woman slip through the cracks again! We the People demand that the States of Vermont and New Hampshire take action and protect the unborn child from Sandra Eastman. The child abuse must stop, and Sandra Eastman has already proven through three different children that she is incapable of protecting and caring for them.
